Black Ops 2 Balance Issues
- date: December 6, 2012
Okay, I know this series is not really know for fairly balanced weapons, but what I've just done today is pretty ridiculous. I had about 30 minutes, so I decided I would play a few matches in Black Ops 2. I decided that I wanted to unlock a new skin for my combat knife, a secondary weapon similar to Counter-Strikes, so I equipped it in my favorite class. In the first match I played, I was able to get nearly double my usual amount of kills, in addition to a lower death rate. I was able play much better by simply rushing at other players with a knife. By the second match, most of my team had seen what I was doing and successfully copied my technique, causing the other team to rage. On my third and final round, the opposing team did something I had never seen before in a Call of Duty game; They used teamwork. They actually managed to beat my team by traveling in close knit groups, and my team lost by a large margin. Seeing the rarity of teamwork in this game, the Combat Knife seems to be
Black Ops launch issues
- date: May 28, 2011
Hey all, I recently pre-ordered the Escalation DLC from the steam store. It says I have it in my libary and im not sure whether it's trying to install it beforehand so I don't have to install it on the day or what. However it won't allow me to launch Singleplayer or Multiplayer.
In the libary it just says both the downloads are paused (sp+mp) and I can 'Resume Updating' but then it just says 'Download Starting' and nothing else. It remains like that constantly.
Now here is where the main issue kicks in. When I try to launch SP or MP it opens a small box and says - Validating Steam files (Validating Call of Duty: Black Ops - Multiplayer file (1 of 1) and then it goes from 0% to 100% within 5 seconds.
A second box appears after the first one has validated the files (100%) and then displays - The Steam Servers are currently too busy to handle your request. Please try again in a few minutes.
I've tried again in 10 mins, 30, 1 hour later, even restarting my pc does nothing. It's not a m
Lag/Spike/Delay Issues Southeast ASIA
- date: November 23, 2012
As title say, I having lag, delay and spike issue on BO2 multiplayer.
Country: Malaysia, Singapore
PC Spec/Connection - Able to run MW3 in full resolution (No sync, no anti-alias, automatic texture quality), Connection speed is 1mbps (Can play MW3 very smooth)
MW3 ping ---> 4 or 5 bar - Green colour (Smooth)
BO2 ping ---> maximum 4 bar - Yellow colour (See below)
First of all, I die very quick once I see the enemy appear in front of me. I try react as fast as possible even camp at a corner but still die very fast. I don't think this is my skill problem since I can play very well in MW3. Also, lag compensation is not the factor, it is something like they see and shoot us first, we lag so the screen is delay, as a result we die first.
Secondly, it is about the spike problem. Every time the enemy appear, my game will suddenly spike for 1-2 seconds. When the game get back to normal, I realize my character lying on the floor. I can't aim at all due to this kind of spike. At fir
Call of Duty Warchest Issues
- date: January 10, 2012
I recently bought the Call of Duty Warchest (Call of Duty, United Offensive, and Call of Duty 2), as some buddies I used to play this with a long time ago are going to setup a server. When trying to join a server I get an Invalid CD Key error, asking me to put in my CD key. But, unlike other games, right clicking the game in my steam library doesn't give me an option to view my CD-keys. So, where am I supposed to find it?

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six(1998) issues. Default plans produce no waypoints.
- date: April 17, 2013
So in a garage sale I found the Rainbow Six Gold Pack Edition. Big box one so it came with the giant prima guide as well. I got to mission 5 of the original campaign and when I loaded up the default plan I found out that there were no waypoints of any kind. I thought this was strange so I went and found an iso online and reinstalled with that thinking that the .pln files on the disc were bad(it could happen I guess ::P). Same result. No waypoints. I am on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I tried running it under Windows 98 compatibility and as admin. Can I fix this or will I have to plan the mission myself?
EDIT: I do want to say I solo'd it without waypoints and beat it with 1 casualty. I then went to mission 6 and did that with no casualties and no waypoints. I then say that mission 7 had no waypoints and decided that this wasn't the way to play.
Catalyst Control Centre 12.6 issues
- date: July 7, 2012
Hi has any one else had trouble with ATI catalyst control centre 12.6? My specs are in my sig. On loading up windows it displays the log in screen at the wrong resolution but fixes it about 10 seconds after loading desktop, the main problem though is that YouTube won't stream video when I use chrome but it works in Internet explorer. The YouTube problem only started yesterday but as flash is up to date I assume it's got to do with the only thing that was updated recent i.e control centre
(this is not an internet speed issue)
The MMO Conundrum..
- date: February 22, 2012
Hello, (This is a long post, so I do apoligise)
Having just read the recent Guild Wars 2 previews, it got me thinking about the way MMO's have changed so dramatically since I first began to play them. It seems as if there has been this see-saw motion within the genre itself, you're probably thinking what am I talking about?
Well, you see the first ever MMO I played and really the only MMO I've ever been able to truly enjoy was back when I had just bought my own PC and was a wee nipper (2000 to be exact, I was 11 years old ) and in my opinion ofcourse I was blessed to play a game some of you may of heard of.... Ultima Online.
Now, Guild Wars 2 as you have seen is trying to break this so called "MMO Model" with how it's setting about the way it does quests, classes and PvP etc. Which by the way, are not ground-breaking nor innovative, infact the concepts are very old, so old infact you have to go back to the early MMO's to find those concepts. (I'm not bashing on GW
Custom launch option issues
- date: August 10, 2012
Ive been trying to get SC4D to launch in my native resolution, or just pay some attention to what the launch options say, and its making no difference with steam.
Using, lets call them 'dubious' methods, I can get the exact same files (bar 1) using all the settings i want... its not my system refusing, nor is it my launching settings being wrong, its Steams handling of it.
Just using -Intro:off does absolutely nothing. I still get the EA message & SC4 video.
I've googled the matter to death, and nothing bar taking illegal measures on a legally purchased product makes it work the way the developers sold it.
-CustomResolution:enabled -r2048x1152x32 -w
None make an ounce of difference with Steam, and i've modified the .exe to run as XP SP3 & as Admin.
-l:english -Intro:off -CustomResolution:enabled -r2048x1152x32 -w -CPUCount:4
Which works perfectly, provided i dont
A few CPU/GPU issues (and OS issues)
- date: October 29, 2012
Ok guys, I'm a tech asking questions. So it's not like you gotta break it all down for me. Just saying...
Where to start. Well ok my main gaming machine here at home is having some intermittent issues and I'm just not sure where to go from here since I've played around for over a week running tests and swapping hardware around and trying various BIOS settings and such. Overall I think I hit a wall and maybe something needs to be RMA'd but I figured I'd ask some questions and see what the other techs/geeks have to say.
1) GPU keeps throttling, even when running a game or benchmark that is putting a good load on the GPU, but not a load over 95%. For example, I'm using MSI Afterburner 2.2.4 + Kombuster and when I click the K button for the OpenGL FurMark-like test, my GPU throttles at random by approx -350Mhz (Core Clock only).
2) CPU tends to throttle around too at random (according to CPU-Z 1.61 x64)even though I don't have AMD Cool & Quiet enabled and I have my Windows
